6 Weeks Already

OK, so far not off to the best start with blogging...I may not be one to be modeled after! I am however making an effort right this minute while everyone is content! I can not believe Ben is already 6 weeks old, hello time flies! Life over the past five weeks has been so much different than I could have ever imagined...it's been more fun, more tiring, more juggling required, less non-kiddo conversation with my hubby, more visitors:), bigger baby, more smiles and laughter, just MORE in general and I've loved it!

Ben has been pretty easy on us, sleeps great, eats great and is such a joy. He rolled over a couple of days before his one month birthday, wiggles ALL the time, already it's different having a boy than a girl. He is officially smiling more times than I can now count in a day and he even busted out with an adorable laugh the other day. He loves his big sister who has an amazing ability to sing him into happiness if he is fussy and she loves to give her famous "kisses, noses, hugs" to him whenever she can. At his 2 week checkup he was already weighing in at 9lb.8oz. and is pushing 12lb. now! Lilly was such a little peanut, this big baby thing is new to us! He is one sturdy boy, which makes it easier to hold on to him which his Papa loves.

Visitors: So after we gave a tearful good-bye to Grannie, our friend Emily came for a weekend visit, she kept Lilly busy making 4th of July dessert and just playing with her. A good distraction for Lilly because she was so not happy about her Grannie leaving! Next came our hitch-hiking Uncle Steve who has been with us for about a week and a half so far. He'll be here for another 5 days or so. Lilly has not left his side since he arrived, and Uncle Steve has seen first hand how tiring being home with kiddos can really be...let's just say, he's needed a nap everyday right along with the kids:) He has been a big help around the house and keeping our busy girl...well...busy! Aunt Rachel got here on Thurs. night and will be with us for 8 days! We are so excited to have the Kennedy family represented with her visit. We have been so blessed with so much help these first weeks. And so much FUN!

Ben has now been to the beach 6 times in his short 5 weeks of life, one fireworks show by the river, out to eat a couple of times, one evening at the pool, dinner at the neighbors, an almost boat ride (but the boat died), and every night in Papa and Momma's bedroom:) He has jumped right in to life and seems to be a pretty laid back boy.

Well, it's feeding time, so I'm off.

Those are some adorable kids!!! I miss them already. Hopefully Lilly won't be too bored without all the visitors.

Glad to hear things are going well. Make sure you call us next time you are in the Fort! We'd love to see all of you. Take care. Oh, and don't worry about the blogging consistency. I think that it's true in the blogging world (at least among mamas') that when it rains, it pours, and when it doesn't...well, it's dry. : ) Nap times and bed time is the best time for me. Enjoying everything you've added so far!
