Surgery Update #2

This is an update from Steve per Anne's request:

Happy New Year Family and Friends!!!

Scott and Anne had a good nights sleep and slept through the new year, well almost. The nurses were supposed to come in at midnight and at 4:30am. At 4:30am, when Anne woke up to the nurses care, she questioned them why they didn't visit her at midnight. They responded by saying they did come and proclaimed, "happy new year", which Anne enthusiastically replied the same. She doesn't remember any of it. Anne says that Scott could take over the nurses jobs because he has learned everything that needs to be done and when. But I (Steve) am not sure he's ready for the medical field because I've seen him about faint at the sight of blood.

The nurses have removed Anne's catheter so today they are going to teach her to go "potty" which she is excited about. They also replaced the bandages so Scott and Anne got to see the incisions. They got plenty of pictures so be ready to be grossed out!!

In about an hour they will be removing the pain blocker from the top of her leg so Anne will begin to feel her leg again. Please pray that the pain will be tolerable so she can have a good day of physical therapy and continue to gain mobility.
